Frequently Asked Questions
GeraTycoon FAQ
Everything about making money in the game, levelling up your business empire, GeraCoins rewards, and what real business lessons the game is actually built on.
- How do I actually make money in GeraTycoon?
- GeraTycoon runs on a passive income loop. Every business you own generates revenue automatically while you are away — your job is to invest that revenue wisely to unlock higher-tier businesses and multiply your income faster. In the early game, focus on maximising your first business chain (the Corner Shop) to Level 3 before branching out. Active play earns bonus multipliers: completing client contracts, attending business events, and negotiating supply deals all give 1.5x–5x bursts on top of your passive stream. The fastest players use a compound-growth strategy: reinvest 80% of earnings until you hit the Mall tier, then diversify across industries for stable high income. Do not neglect research upgrades — a fully upgraded supply chain can double the income of an entire business chain without additional investment.
- What is the difference between in-game cash and GeraCoins?
- In-game cash (shown as $ in GeraTycoon) is your operational currency — used to buy businesses, hire managers, fund research, and expand. It exists only inside GeraTycoon and resets if you start a new save. GeraCoins are completely different: they are real cross-product currency shared across all Gera Games and Gera Services. You earn GeraCoins by hitting milestone achievements — your first million in revenue, completing story chapters, or placing in weekly leaderboards. GeraCoins never reset, are stored in your Gera account, and can be spent on real-world discounts across all Gera products: food delivery via GeraEats, doctor visits via GeraClinic, courses on GeraLearn, and more. Think of in-game cash as the fuel that runs GeraTycoon, and GeraCoins as the real-world reward you collect along the way.
- How does the business chain progression work (Shop → Store → Mall → HQ)?
- Every industry in GeraTycoon follows a four-tier chain. You start with a Corner Shop — a tiny operation with low overhead and modest returns. Once your Shop reaches Level 10 and you have met the revenue threshold, you can merge it into a Regional Store, which operates at roughly 8x the income of a single Shop but requires managers and supply contracts. At Level 10 of the Store tier, you unlock the Shopping Mall — a high-complexity operation that draws income from surrounding businesses and generates bonus multiplier events. The final tier is your industry HQ: a global headquarters that unlocks cross-industry synergies, passive income on all businesses in that vertical, and the ability to go public (IPO) on the in-game stock market for a massive one-time payout. Each tier also unlocks new research tree branches and gives you access to exclusive limited-time business events. You can run multiple chains simultaneously — most top players maintain 3–4 chains at different tiers for income diversification.
- What happens if I go bankrupt?
- Going bankrupt — your cash hitting zero with outstanding liabilities — triggers the Restructuring event. You do not lose all your progress. Instead, a bank takeover occurs: you are forced to sell your lowest-value businesses at a 40% discount to cover debts, and your income is reduced for 7 in-game days. Any GeraCoins you have earned are never affected by bankruptcy — they remain in your Gera account regardless. To avoid bankruptcy, keep a minimum 20% cash reserve buffer and never overextend on supply contracts you cannot service. The game shows a "Liquidity Warning" when your cash drops below the danger threshold — that is your signal to liquidate some non-core assets or pause expansion. Bankruptcy is survivable and sometimes even strategic: some advanced players deliberately restructure to reset a poorly built chain and rebuild it with better manager assignments.
- When does the leaderboard reset, and does my progress carry over?
- The weekly leaderboard resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Your position is based on net worth at the moment of reset, not cumulative earnings. After reset, all rankings go back to zero — but everything else carries over: your businesses, managers, upgrades, research progress, and GeraCoins. Only the competitive ranking score resets. At the end of each weekly season, the top 100 players on each regional leaderboard receive GeraCoins prizes — 500 GeraCoins for top 10, 200 for top 50, 50 for top 100. These are paid out within 24 hours of the reset and appear in your Gera wallet automatically. There is also a permanent all-time leaderboard that never resets, showing your peak weekly rank across all seasons.
- What real-world business lessons does GeraTycoon actually teach?
- GeraTycoon is designed around seven core business concepts that mirror how actual companies operate. First: compound growth — reinvesting earnings grows wealth exponentially, not linearly. Second: cash flow vs. profit — you can show high profit on paper but still go bankrupt if your cash timing is off, exactly as happens in real business. Third: diversification — over-concentration in one industry leaves you exposed to sector downturns (the game simulates market recessions). Fourth: operations leverage — hiring the right managers (high-skill, sector-matched) delivers returns far beyond their salary cost. Fifth: supply chain management — negotiating better input costs is often more profitable than increasing prices. Sixth: market timing — launching a new business during an in-game boom versus a recession has dramatically different outcomes. Seventh: the IPO and capital markets mechanic — going public gives a massive cash injection but reduces your decision-making control, just as in reality. Players who understand these mechanics intuitively do significantly better in the game — and in real business.
- How do I find my purchase history and receipts?
- All purchases made in GeraTycoon are logged in your Gera account under Account → Purchase History. This includes premium currency packs, cosmetic bundles, and any expansion passes. Each transaction shows the date, amount, payment method (last four digits), and an itemised receipt. You can export your full purchase history as a PDF from the Purchase History page — useful for expense records or if you need to raise a dispute. If a purchase does not appear within 15 minutes, pull-to-refresh the Purchase History page first. Platform billing (Apple App Store, Google Play) may take up to 24 hours to sync; App Store and Play Store receipts can also be accessed directly from those platforms independently of your Gera account.
- Are there plans for multiplayer or co-op mode?
- Yes — GeraTycoon Multiplayer is on the roadmap. The current game is single-player with asynchronous competition via leaderboards and the weekly market events (where all players share the same simulated economy). The multiplayer mode in development adds synchronous features: business cartels (join forces with 4 other players to dominate an industry together), hostile takeovers (bid on other players' businesses using in-game cash), and a live trading floor where players can buy and sell assets from each other in real time. We are targeting a multiplayer beta in Q3 2026. If you want early access, join the waitlist at tycoon.gera.games/multiplayer — existing players will be prioritised for beta invites.
